Superb day with my family marking the 100 year anniversary of the Pompoota Hall today – which was set up as part of a soldier settlement scheme on the Murray near Murray Bridge.
Exactly 100 years ago today, Crawford Vaughan – one my predecessors as Premier – opened the hall. My family and I were thrilled to make our own, shorter journey by boat today, aboard the PS Mayflower.
And just like Premier Vaughan, we were greeted by a guard of honour made up of local school children.
Part of Anzac Centenary commemorations, the "After the Trenches” Exhibition at Pompoota is on display until Anzac Day, then elsewhere in the region over the following year. You can find out more at: http:/
